A Pearland teen and a 21-year-old man were arrested for allegedly robbing a man at gun point at a west side neighborhood park Friday (September 4).
According to police reports, officers were dispatched to a park the neighborhood park in the Southgate subdivision located at 11417 Harris Avenue around 9:30 p.m. to investigate reports of an armed robbery.
The victim reportedly told officers two men pointed handguns at him and then made away with several items including his iPhone and an undisclosed amount of money. In addition, the victim told police the suspects searched through his vehicle, which was at the park, before leaving on foot headed north toward Pearland Town Center.
Soon after, a teenager matching the physical description of one of the suspects was seen riding a bicycle on the trail surrounding the lake north of the subdivision. The teen was detained near the Goodyear store located at 3209 Kirby Drive. The suspect, identified as D’andre Fanniel, 17, was found to be in possession of the stolen iPhone and was later positively identified by the victim, police officials said. Property in Fanniel’s possession led police to a nearby residence where the second suspect was reportedly located. The second suspect, identified as Xavier Lavallais, 21, was also identified by the victim. Both suspects were arrested on felony charges of aggravated robbery and each remain in custody at the Brazoria County Jail on a $120,000 bond.
